unpopular opinion but even though raye isn’t exactly a prime example of feminism, he isn’t a misogynist and his comments are more out of concern for naomi than sexism. the decision to leave the fbi was a decision she made for herself bc she’s a strong woman who wouldn’t let anyone make that decision for her, not one that he forced her into. in addition, a lot of dn characters show similar biases (bc honestly, ohba is pretty sexist himself) without garnering nearly as much criticism and the fandom treatment of him is pretty damn unfair, especially since he’s treated like misogyny is his defining trait. he isn’t a bad person or an abusive partner, just kind of a dumbass.
